True and fair’ accounting

THE Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) has welcomed the statement from the Financial Reporting Council in Britain that the concept of ‘true and fair’ remains a cornerstone of the Irish and British financial reporting regimes.

The Financial Reporting Council is the governing authority of the Auditing Practices Board and the Accounting Standards Board.
