Parmalat plans to repay debt

PARMALAT Finanziaria SpA, the bankrupt Italian dairy company, will give creditors until September 18 to present claims for repayment of debt and to submit comments on the list of creditors eligible for compensation.

Agreeing on a final creditors list will allow the company to go ahead with a planned debt-for-equity swap to give creditors shares in a new Parmalat. It will pay €192.4 million to suppliers and other creditors.
