MBAAI president Greg Devlin said his association is committed to management excellence and that vision was epitomised in TCH. He said Mr Dinan was a visionary, a leader and an outstanding manager.

“In recent years TCH, headed by Anthony Dinan, has achieved many high accolades in recognition of the company’s progressive approach to business and management,” he said.

The media group was Cork Chamber of Commerce Company of the Year in 2001. TCH, owners of the Irish Examiner, has expanded rapidly in recent years acquiring the Sunday Business Post and a number of major regional titles throughout the country. It also has extensive radio and electronic media interests.

Accepting the award Mr Dinan said the MBA Association was not just making him an honorary member it was taking on all 900 of the group’s employees.

He thanked the association and praised it for the high calibre of people, like Rudy Giuliani, it has engaged over the years to address its annual conference.
