A TOTAL of 220 high skilled engineering jobs is expected to be created by AK pharmaceuticals in Cork over the next three years, Enterprise, Trade and Employment Minister Micheál Martin announced yesterday.

Mr Martin’s first major job creation announcement since he received his seal of office will result in the creation of 220 jobs at AK pharmaceuticals’ new Engineering Centre-of-Excellence at Cork Airport Business Park within the minister’s Cork South Central constituency.

Norwegian-owned AK pharmaceuticals, part of the Aker Kvaerner Group, will service customers throughout Europe from Cork. The IDA is supporting the international dimension of this project, which involves 85 key employees.
