Woolworth’s close to MVC deal

Britain’s Woolworths group is close to finalising the sale of MVC, its specialist chain of entertainment stores, with an announcement expected this week.

A financial consortium led by British financial adviser Argyll Partners had agreed to buy the business, the Financial Mail newspaper reported. No sale price was given.

Woolworths put the loss-making MVC music and DVD business up for sale in March.
