Carillion behind offer for rival

CONSTRUCTION and engineering firm Carillion has emerged as the possible bidder behind an approach for troubled rival Mowlem, a member of the consortium building Dublin’s Port Tunnel.

Weekend reports said Carillion is in early stage talks with Mowlem over a potential bid thought to be worth £312m (€452m).
