Carriers could follow Duo

NO-FRILLS airlines warned yesterday that more and more carriers could follow British airline Duo in going bust in the increasingly risky low-cost flight market, but denied that the bubble had burst on the demand for cheaper flights.

Carriers could follow Duo

Duo, which planned to operate flights from Shannon to Birmingham and Edinburgh from next month, cancelled all flights from midnight on Friday last after it went into administration, blaming poor trading and insufficient investment.

Up to 1,000 passengers at more than a dozen European destinations were left stranded after the collapse of the carrier, which had operated for just seven months.
