The company said yesterday the rebranded four-star hotel would be the sixth in its portfolio and the fourth Clarion to open this year. It already operates from locations in Cork’s Lapps Quay, Dublin’s IFSC and Liffey Valley, Limerick and Sligo.

The 247-bedroom hotel, which opened in 1971, will remain open during the changeover, while refurbishment work is carried out. The 200 full-time and part-time staff will be unaffected by the takeover.
