GE hails lending growth this year

GE Consumer Finance’s Irish business has had “a tremendous start” to 2005, the company said yesterday.

Dan O’Connor, the Dublin-based chief executive of the global finance giant’s European division, said the new GE Money brand reflected the company’s move to become a more consumer-focused business.

Car loans and other personal lending in Ireland had seen strong growth, said Mr O’Connor.
