210,000 job ads in Irish newspapers

JUST under 210,000 recruitment advertisements were placed in the national daily and Sunday newspapers in 2005, according to Bank of Ireland Business Banking’s review of the employment market.

Its end-of-year job index shows this figure is 2% up on 2004 and 11% up on 2003, fuelled mainly by increased demand for labour in the professional, retail and education sectors.

The December results for the job index indicate that the recruitment boom is set to continue into 2006.
