Quinn to invest €150m in German plant

FERMANAGH businessman Sean Quinn is to extend his empire in central Europe with a €150 million investment in a chemical plant in eastern Germany.

Mr Quinn, whose interests include cement, glass, plastics, radiators, insurance and hotels, will set up a facility near Leipzig that will manufacture MMA, a material used in preparing plastic and glass and which can also be applied as an ingredient in paints and adhesives.

The project will be supported by the Saxony Anhalt regional authority and local development agencies.
