ComReg, along with Ofcom, the British and Northern Ireland telecom regulator, has announced proposals to award licences to use spectrum in the band 1785-1805MHz in the New Year.

Spectrum in the band 1785-1805MHz could be used for new services such as broadband wireless access.

This marks the first time the regulators have adopted a co-ordinated approach to awarding spectrum to benefit businesses and consumers throughout the island of Ireland.
