Financials mixed in light trading

VOLUMES on the Irish market were light yesterday. The ISEQ index closed 11.53 points lower at 4186.99.

Financials mixed in light trading

The main mover was Arnotts which jumped 7.8% to €13.75 following the news that the board of the company have received an indicative offer worth €14.2625c per share from a consortium led by Mr Richard Nesbitt.

The financials were mixed. Allied Irish Bank fell 19c to €13.53 and Irish Life & Permanent lost 10c to €10.40. However First Active rose 10c to €5.45 and Bank of Ireland added 4c to €10.99.
