New radio station for north west

The north west will get a new commercial radio station this morning with the launch of Ocean FM.

The station, which is backed by former Ireland ’keeper Packie Bonner among others, won the controversial licence last year to take over from North West Radio.

Robert Walshe, general manager and programme director of Ocean FM, said: “We will be offering the people of Sligo, south Donegal and north Leitrim their first ever real exclusive service.”
