AIB may sell minority stake in M

SPECULATION is mounting that AIB will sell out of its US minority stake in M&T valued at €2.3 billion.

It could use the cash to expand in Poland or buy assets in Britain, Irish analysts said.

British analysts told Bloomberg the M&T holding did not make strategic sense. AIB refused to comment.
