RECRUITIRELAND.COM, a leading recruitment website, has announced a special incentive for employers in the midlands.

The move follows job losses at the MSL plant in Athlone, Co Westmeath.

RecruitIreland.com already has almost 100 jobs in the region on its site.

The website normally advertises in excess of 7,000 jobs each week and contains the details of 135,000 candidates registered on its site.

For a period of two weeks, employers can advertise their jobs free of charge on the RecruitIreland website. The offer is open to all direct employers in the region with effect from Monday.

A sample of the jobs RecruitIreland.com already has on its site in the midlands includes: financial controller in a Westmeath manufacturing plant; plant manager in a manufacturing environment in Westmeath with more than 150 employees salary range 70k-80k; maintenance systems manager in Athlone DOE merchandisers to cover the midlands; machine setters and moulding technicians 1-2 years' experience; quality assurance manager food manufacturing sector in Longford; product development manager in Roscommon.

RecruitIreland.com marketing manager Aoife Curtin said: "The announcement of the job losses at MSL was obviously a harsh blow for Athlone and the surrounding areas. When we heard the news, we wanted to try to do our bit to help both employers and candidates in the region to get back to work as quickly as possible. The one way that we can help is to give employers the opportunity to advertise their jobs free on our site.

"Equally, we already have jobs in the Athlone and Midlands region that may be suitable for some of those who lost jobs at MSL, so there is also an opportunity there for those workers."

In the past two years, RecruitIreland.com has seen a massive 467% increase in job applications going through its site on a daily basis. Additionally, RecruitIreland.com has also seen a 96% increase in new candidates registering on the site every day.
