Airport authority a success, tourism promotion necessary: Cork Chamber

THE establishment of the new Cork Airport Authority has already proved to be a major success, Cork Chamber of Commerce president Robin O’Sullivan said last night.

Passenger traffic is projected to grow by a staggering 30% this year, compared to just 3% last year. The extra 600,000 passengers will bring the total number using the airport to almost three million.

This will result in a direct contribution to the local economy of €200 million and will support the equivalent of 1,400 full time jobs.
