Deadline for first energy awards

Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) says companies have just one more week to enter the first ever Energy Awards scheme.

The Sustainable Energy Awards are intended to encourage and reward excellence in energy management in the industrial, commercial and public sectors. The awards will focus on individuals and groups who show a commitment to introduce energy management as an integral part in the operation of their business.

SEI chief executive David Taylor said with increasing fuel prices, and the future cost impact of environmental instruments such as emissions trading and carbon tax, there has never been a greater incentive for firms to improve their efficiency.
