Market shows gains after rally

Shares in Dublin continued to rise slightly yesterday despite spending most of the day in the red. The ISEQ index nudged upwards by 4.08 points to 7526.13.

Financial stocks fell by 41 points overall led by Bank of Ireland, which dropped 8c to €13.57. AIB however climbed 6c to €18.26, while in the second line Anglo-Irish gained 8c to €13.10 with Irish Life & Permanent weakening by 55c to €16.80.

In Construction Grafton Group was the leading casualty giving up 10c to €9.25. CRH and Kingspan were both unchanged at €25.62 and €11.11 apiece.

Elsewhere, Elan continued it’s upward trend jumping a further 9c to €13.14.

Meanwhile Ryanair jumped 22c to €8.00, C&C strengthened 17c to €5.70, with Greencore sliding 10c to €3.68.
