O2 customer base continues growth with 15,000 new subscribers

MOBILE phone operator O2 Ireland added 150,000 new subscribers in the six months to the end of September.

The company said this was a 12% rise on figures over the same period in 2003. It added that its total customer base had risen to 1.42 million.

In the three months to the end of September, O2 added 30,000 new subscribers, nearly four times as many as larger rival Vodafone and just ahead of the 29,500 Meteor gained.
