Concerns over Jacob Fruitfield jobs

EMPLOYEES at the Jacob Fruitfield factory in Dublin were called to meetings with the company yesterday.

Last night there was concerns for the future of jobs at the Tallaght factory.

Around 300 people are employed in the biscuit operations, with Fruitfield employing a further 200.

Employees at the biscuit factory last week voted against the acceptance of changes to work practices sought by the company.

It recently said trading had been “challenging” with intense competition from imported products.
