Stockbyte sale to inspire further hi-tech successes

THE sale of Kerry-based images company, Stockbyte, last week for €110m could inspire other success stories from a hi-tech centre in Tralee.

The Kerry Technology Park, which is linked to the Institute of Technology in Tralee, is home to a growing number of internationally-recognised and knowledge-based business.

One company located there, Altobridge, may be able to provide a solution to the long-running telecommunications problem in Kerry’s remote Black Valley. Altobridge has developed a satellite-based telecommunications network that has provided a phone service to remote areas of Iceland, Malaysia and Canada.
