France to sell more than third of Areva

France said it will sell more than one-third of Areva, the world’s biggest maker of nuclear reactors, raising as much as €3.5 billion ($4.5 billion) in an initial public offering.

The government will sell between 35% and 40% of the state-controlled company, the Finance Ministry said in a faxed statement today in Paris.
