Financial sector weighs down ISEQ

THE ISEQ Index fell for the second consecutive day as the financials weighed down the market. The Dublin Exchange closed 74.12 points lighter at 7919.22.

Financial sector weighs down ISEQ

The financial sector was 208.8 points lower overall. Market heavyweight AIB dropped 36c to €18.90. Competitor Bank of Ireland was also a loser on the day, down 22c to €14.90. In the second line, Anglo Irish fell 11c to €13.12 while Irish Life and Permanent crossed the line at €20.05.

Construction giant CRH dropped 46c to €28.72. Kingspan Group jumped 17c and was €12.97 at the closing bell. Grafton Group increased its share price on the day to €10.62.
