Price of shoes and clothes drops 30%

THE price of clothes and shoes has fallen by 30% in Ireland during the past five years, according to the Fashion and Footwear Federation.

Jim Whelan, chief executive of the Fashion and Footwear Federation, which represents the retail and wholesale fashion sector, decried suggestions Irish consumers are being overcharged and called on commentators to deal in facts, not fiction or anecdotal stories.
