Plea for solution to EU budget row

EUROPE’s top employers’ group, UNICE, urged incoming European Union president Britain to try to secure a deal on the bloc’s long-term budget after the collapse of negotiations in the early hours on Saturday.

UNICE said a quick approval of the EU’s 2007-2013 budget would boost the bloc’s credibility in reviving sluggish economic growth and lowering high unemployment.
