Nuacht boss lands Euro television role

HEAD of Nuacht at RTÉ, Michael Lally has been elected to the executive of CIRCOM, the body representing the interests of 300 regional television channels across Europe.

The Galway-born broadcaster who joined RTÉ in 1979 was appointed to the 22-member CIRCOM board in February and was elected to the six-member executive for a three-year term at last month’s meeting in Denmark.

In addition to representing regional television station interests in Brussels, CIRCOM organises events and training courses and also acts as a coordinating body for co-productions.
