Princeton: Dell Inc. founder Michael Dell will hand over the chief executive title to president Kevin Rollins on July 16, giving up some control of the world’s biggest personal computer maker.

Dell, 39, will continue as chairman to focus on trends in technology and research and will leave strategy and operations to Rollins.

Rollins, 51, will be nominated for election to the board, to succeed Mort Topfer, a director since December 1999 who chose not to stand for re-election.
