Greencore appoints non-exec director

Greencore has appointed David Simons as a non-executive director. Mr Simons is chairman of British retail chain Littlewoods and will take up his new position from July 1.

From 1993 to 2000 he was chief executive of supermarket chain Somerfield and also held senior positions with House of Fraser Limited and Toys R Us.

Greencore chairman Ned Sullivan said: ‘The board is delighted a person of David Simons’s calibre has joined the board.”
