Japan bounces back

JAPANESE stocks rebounded from three-week lows as mutual funds attracted more money in an expanding economy.

Japan bounces back

The Nikkei rose 307.21, or, 1.9%, to 16,184.87 at the close in Tokyo. It earlier fell as much as 1.2%. The broader Topix index added 17.23, or 1.1%, to 1635.24.

Toyota and Advantest, the largest of the nation’s benchmark indexes, led gains.
