Firm’s expansion plan announced

THE expansion of Parsons, which was reported in the Irish Examiner on Tuesday, was officially announced by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin yesterday.

The California-based company, which employs 9,000 world-wide, will hire an extra 80 staff over the next three years, bringing to 150 the number employed in Cork.

The Cork operation, which has moved to larger 15,000sq ft premises at the Cork Airport Business Park, will become the headquarters of Parsons’ European operations.
