Passenger numbers up at Cork Airport

FEBRUARY passenger figures at Cork Airport registered an impressive increase of 22.2% during the month, an increase of 36,533 passengers on the same month last year.

Domestic traffic showed a marked increase of 60.8% last month, due to extra capacity provided by Ryanair. London traffic was up 14% due to the presence of Ryanair and Easyjet on the London-Gatwick route.

Overall British passenger traffic was up 13.7%, due to extra capacity on the Belfast City, Edinburgh, Newcastle, and Exeter routes. European traffic increased by 25% due to new Aer Lingus routes.
