IBI ‘frustrated’ on Broadcasting Bill

THE Independent Broadcasters of Ireland (IBI) has expressed frustration at ongoing delays preventing the publication of the long awaited Broadcasting Bill.

IBI chairman David Tighe yesterday said: “For over three years now we have been promised a bill that will finally introduce a new single regulator covering all Irish broadcasters, both commercial and State-owned services.

It is disappointing that in April 2006 there is still no sign of the heads of the bill let alone the legislation itself.”
