TCH buys Roscommon Herald

IRISH Examiner owners Thomas Crosbie Holdings continued to pursue its aggressive acquisition strategy yesterday with the purchase of the Nerney family-owned Roscommon Herald.

The move makes TCH the single largest player in the Irish regional newspaper market with 11 separate titles.

Neither party would disclose a sale price citing confidentiality agreements, but media reports would indicate that TCH would have to pay close to €7 million to acquire the highly profitable company.
