Major outages as US states are battered by snow, rain and high winds

A major spring storm brought heavy snow, rain and high winds to the north east of the US, causing more than 680,000 power outages across the region with the majority in the states of Maine and New Hampshire.

A woman was reported killed by a falling tree in a New York City suburb.
