Qatar expresses 'deep regret' over Israel's resumption of Gaza bombardment

Qatar, which had mediated the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, has expressed "deep regret" over the resumption of Israeli bombardments of Gaza, and said efforts are continuing to renew the truce. 

Israeli fighter jets hit targets in the Gaza Strip minutes after a week-long truce expired as the war with Hamas resumed in full force.
