Biden to split frozen Afghan funds between 9/11 victims and relief efforts
The World Trade Center in New York, USA.

President Joe Biden will sign an order to split billions in Afghan assets frozen in the US to fund humanitarian relief in Afghanistan and to create a trust fund for victims of the September 11 2001 attacks, the White House said.

The executive order calls for US financial institutions to facilitate access to three-and-a-half billion dollars (£2.58 billion) for Afghan relief and basic needs, with the same sum remaining in the US to fund ongoing litigation by American victims of terrorism, officials said.
