Eight dead, 50 injured, in stampede at Cameroon vs Comoros football match

Officials at the nearby Messassi hospital said they had received at least 40 injured people from the stampede

At least eight people were killed and about 50 injured following a stampede before the Africa Cup of Nations game between tournament hosts Cameroon and Comoros.

The incident occurred before Monday’s round-of-16 tie in the Olembe area of the capital Yaounde.
