World's 26 richest people hold same wealth as poorest 50%, report finds

Oxfam's Public Good or Private Wealth? report found that billionaires watched their fortunes increase by nearly $2.5bn per day last year, as the wealth of the world's poorest dwindled by 11%.

The world's 26 richest people now hold the same wealth as the poorest half of the global population, according to an Oxfam report released today.

This is a decrease from 43 in 2017, the charity said.
