Update 8.21am: Up to 44,687 Irish Facebook users may have had some personal information improperly accessed by Cambridge Analytica, RTÉ News has reported.

According to a statement from the social media firm this morning, although just 15 people in Ireland installed the controversial thisisyourdigitallife app responsible for sharing the data, all of their friends could have been affected.
