Police officers injured in collision with postal lorry
Two police officers in Wales have been taken to hospital following an early morning crash with a postal lorry.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash in Penarth Road, Cardiff, at around 3.30am on Monday.
South Wales Police confirmed one its vehicles had been in collision with a Royal Mail postal lorry.
The force is advising avoiding motorists to avoid Penarth Road, which is often busy with traffic heading into the Welsh capital.
A force spokesman said: "The two occupants of the police vehicle have been taken to the University Hospital of Wales where they have been treated for non-life threatening injuries.
"Traffic delays are still being experienced while vehicle recovery takes place and motorists are advised to avoid the area."
