Police look for motive in Michigan gun attack

Police in the US are attempting to establish a motive for a string of gun attacks in Michigan that has claimed six lives.

The apparently random shootings happened in the town of Kalamazoo at an apartment block, a restaurant and a car dealership.

A 45 year old man is being questioned by police.

Earlier, police announced seven people had died.

But a 14 year old girl who was thought to have died, remains critically ill.

Undersheriff Paul Matyas has said the death toll could have been even higher: “The first one was a young lady in a parking lot with her three children.

“We are lucky the three children weren’t shot.”
