Stockholm explosion: 'Gas leak' causes blast

An explosion in Central Stockholm, went off this morning at around 11:40am.

It is reported the blast was caused by a gas leak as there was no sign of crime in the area.

The incident occurred in Brännkyrkagatan, Södermalm.

The area was blocked off and emergency services arrived at the scene.

The Independent.co.uk reports the owner of the apartment where the blast occurred called the police and a window of a neighbouring apartment was shattered.

No one was hurt in the incident.
