Eight of easyJet's 10 planned flights from Sharm el-Sheikh today have been suspended, but a spokesman for the airline said two others are believed to have taken off carrying a total of 339 passengers
EasyJet has said the airline's plans to repatriate British tourists from Sharm el Sheikh today have been suspended by the Egyptian authorities.
Thousands of tourists are due to fly out of the resort today with just their hand luggage, as security at the airport there is tightened.
Details have emerged about the British intelligence which suggests a terrorist bomb downed a Russian airliner over Egypt last Saturday.

Sky's Foreign Affairs Editor Sam Kiley has said it is understood American and British spies looked again at communications between militants and found "chatter" in the days before the crash.
“GCHQ (Government Communication Headquarters) went back over previous data that hadn’t been thoroughly inspected if you like following the plane crash to see if there was any connection to militants and at some stage this week they discovered that there was.”
