Stranded car carrier refloats on high tide
A car carrier which became stranded on a sandbank near to a busy shipping lane off the coast of England has refloated on the high tide, according to the UK's Marine and Coastguard Agency (MCA).
Salvage experts Svitzer had abandoned a plan to refloat the Hoegh Osaka, which was beached on Bramble Bank near to Southampton, Hampshire, because it was believed to be holding too much water which would have had to have been pumped out first.
