World powers demand jet crash probe

World leaders are demanding that pro-Russia rebels who control the eastern Ukraine crash site of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 give immediate, unfettered access to investigators to determine who shot down the plane.

At an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, the US laid blame on the separatists, saying Washington believed the Boeing 777 carrying 298 people, including 80 children, was likely to have been downed by an SA-11 missile and “we cannot rule out technical assistance from Russian personnel”.
