Rally planned after Thai ban on protests

An anti-coup activist in Thailand has called for a rally to defy the military government’s ban on demonstrations.

The call to rally raised concerns of a showdown, as the military reiterated its ban on political gatherings and warned it will not tolerate protests against the coup it staged on May 22.
