Hundreds of Turkish police officers sacked after corruption scandal
Up to 350 Turkish police officers in Ankara have been fired amid one of the country's biggest corruption investigations.
According to state media, those who have been let go include heads of major departments.
The officers were sacked by a government decree published at midnight and included chiefs of the financial crimes, anti-smuggling and organised crime units.
The move comes as the government tries to contain a high-level corruption investigation surrounding the country's Prime Minister Recep Erdogan.
