Israel carries out Mediterranean missile test, detected by Russia

The United States and Israel says they are unaware of any ballistic missile launch in the eastern Mediterranean.

The Russian news agency reports quoted defence officials in Moscow, but later suggested a ship may have fired rockets for weather reconnaissance.

The move comes amid military manoeuvres in the region over the crisis in Syria.
