A moment's silence has been held in Aurora Colorado - to mark the first anniversary of the cinema shooting in which 12 people died.

The 82 seconds of silence represented the 12 who died as well as the 70 who were wounded at the midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises.

It was preceded by the reading of the names of the more than 2,500 people who have been died in gun violence in the US since the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre in December.
